Chris Thibault, 47, passed away Thursday, June 6, 2013 in Abilene. Funeral service will be Sunday, June 9th, at 3:00 PM in the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel, 5750 Hwy 277 South. Visitation will be prior to the funeral service from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM on Sunday, June 9th
Chris was born on December 23, 1965 in Burlington, Vermont the son of Richard Joseph Thibault and Sandy Pigeon. He earned his Bachelors degree from Norwich University in Vermont and his Masters degree from Clarkson University in New York where he was the Assistant Professor of Computer Science from 19911997. Chris came to Abilene in 1997 and has worked as an Associate Professor of Computer Science at HardinSimmons University since that time. Chris has worked as a consultant with several organizations throughout his career including, the Rockwell Collins Corporation with the USAF B1 Bomber simulator from 19992009, the Abilene Police Department in the area of computer forensics since 1994, and the NelsonQuinn Law Firm as an expert witness in computing since 1997. He was named Whos Who among Americas teachers in 20042005.
Chris enjoyed hunting and golfing. He was passionate about teaching and genuinely cared about his students. His family always came first and he could always be counted on to share a joke and make everyone around him laugh.
Survivors include his wife, Jennifer Alden his children, Victoria, Olivia, Julia and Joshua his mother, Sandy Thibault of Maine his father, Richard Thibault and wife Patsy of Vermont his grandmother, Grace Pigeon of Florida two brothers, Tim Thibault of North Carolina and Tom Thibault of Vermont halfbrother, Ethan Thibault of Vermont and several aunts, uncles, nephews and nieces.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are requested to HardinSimmons University, Victoria Thibault Scholarship Fund, PO Box 16100, Abilene, TX 79698 or the American Diabetes Association, PO Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312.
