Christopher "Wade" Dwigans, 52, of Abilene, Tx, went to be with the Lord in his
home on June 21, 2023, after a battle with cancer.
Wade was born on September 7, 1970, to Christopher Lee Dwigans and Melody Lynn
Phillips in Noblesville, IN. After Wade graduated from Odessa High School in 1989,
he went on to study Respiratory Theory in San Marcus, Tx.
Wade served as a correctional officer at the Robertson Unit until he went on to receive
his Respiratory Therapist license. He accepted a position at Abilene Regional as a
Respiratory Therapist. He then went on to assist the community with their
rehabilitation needs, as a clinical liaison, where he finished out his 25-year-long career
at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital.
In 2008, Wade met Amy at Abilene Regional. Wade and Amy were married on
February 19, 2011, in Abilene, Tx, where they blended their two families together.
He is survived by his wife Amy Dwigans, his children Blake Dwigans, Brice and
Rachel Dwigans, Jordyn Wilkerson and Stephen Wilkerson, and Gabi Speed, his
parents Christopher Dwigans (deceased), Melody and Tommy Madry, his
grandchildren Christine Orosco, Nevaeh Orosco, Jemma Wilkerson, and greatgrandchildren Amiya Orosco, and brother Brett and Danna Dwigans, and nieces and
nephews.
Services will be held at Elmwood Funeral Home on June 26, 2023. Visitation will be
from 12-2, the funeral service at 2:00, and a brief graveside to follow.
