Claudia "Mirt" Mae Thompson, 90, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, January 30, 2018 in Abilene, Texas. Funeral service will be 11:00 AM on Monday, February 5, 2018 at New Light Baptist Church, 518 North 6th Street, Abilene, Texas. Burial will follow at Elmwood Memorial Park, 5750 Hwy 277 South, Abilene, Texas. Visitation, Sunday, February 4, 2018 from 5:00pm-7:00pm at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 Hwy 277 South. Pastor Eddie Jordan of the New Light Baptist Church will be Officiating.

Claudia was born on January 24, 1928 in Giddings, Texas to Reverend J.B. Oliver and Viola Dears Oliver. She attended School in Giddings, Texas Bet 5. She worked for the Wooten Coffee Shop, Pioneer Airport and the Petroleum Club. She was a member of the New Light Baptist Church in Abilene, Texas.

She is preceded in death by her husband, George Thompson; her parents, brothers and sisters.

She is survived by two stepchildren, Morris Thompson of Dallas, Texas, and Jessie Mae Durst of Woodsboro, Texas; a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Aunt Mirt will be greatly missed.
