Clyde Reynolds

Clyde Leroy Reynolds, 73, passed away Friday, February 17, 2017 in Baird, Texas.

Visitation for friends and family will be held on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 from 12 PM to 2 PM in the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel, 5750 US Highway 277 South. Graveside service will follow at 2 PM Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at Elmwood Memorial Park.

Clyde was born on January 28, 1944 to William Henry Reynolds and Ardith Harrington Reynolds in Wichita Falls, TX. He served the United States Army as Private 2nd class from 1966 to 1968. In 1967, he fought in the Vietnam War, being awarded the Purple Heart from being injured by shrapnel.

Clyde met the love of his life Bertha Dean Roberts at Abilene Courts in Abilene. They later were married on July 5, 1980.

Clyde worked as an air and heating technician in Abilene for several years. He was also a member of the Central Baptist Church. He had a love for fishing; keeping fishing poles in the back of his car and stopping to fish wherever there was water. He also had an interest and hobby for shooting guns. Clyde loved spending time with his family. He especially enjoyed singing and laughing with his brothers. He loved to joke around, never met a stranger, and enjoyed life to the fullest.

He is survived by his wife, Bertha Dean Roberts; children, Will Reynolds and wife Janna of Abilene, Michelle Young and husband Pete of Abilene, Donna Bridda of Abilene, Steve Harris of Abilene, Ricky Lee Reynolds of Abilene, Ron Reynolds of Washington, Paula King and husband Tom of Fort Worth, Sue Jones of Abilene and Shirley Ford and husband Jerry of Corpus Christi; brothers, Hank Reynolds of Haskell and Jeff Reynolds of Haskell; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Clyde is preceded in death by his son, Ernest Harris; parents, Bill and Ardith Reynolds; sisters, Kathryn Reynolds, Joyce Dodson and Ruth Cohrn; two brothers, Doug Reynolds and Billy Glen Reynolds.
