Connie Pedersen

Connie Pedersen, 81, passed away on Friday, June 12, 2009 in Abilene. Her wishes were to be cremated and a private memorial service will be held at a later date.

Connie was born Clarisa Vara on January 13, 1928 in Pittsburg, California. She married Norman Pedersen on November 26, 1947 and in 1955 moved to Buena Park, California where they worked and raised their family. Following the death of her husband in 1981, she moved to Abilene to live with her daughter and was eventually followed by the rest of her family. She will be greatly missed by all, but we know she is in a better place and is at peace.

Survivors include her daughters, Kathy Gregory and Linda McCallum-Lichty of Abilene; grandchildren, Cindy Donowitz and Christine Harper of Washington, Tyler Tufts, Ian and Cheyenne McCallum all of Abilene; great grandchildren, Cody Gregory, Sophi Tufts and Emma King all of Abilene; her sister, Edna Fern and nephews, Ira and Richie all of Daly City, California; her aunt, Ray Herrera and cousin, Michael Marino of Valleho, California.

Her husband, two sons, James Pedersen and Bill Pedersen and a grandson, Michael preceded her in death.
