Consuelo Alvarez Cantu, 72 of Abilene passed away Wednesday, November 25, 2015 in Abilene.

Consuelo was born on November 21, 1943 in Robstown, TX, to the late Manuel Alvarez Sr. and Tiburcia Moreno Alvarez. She married Estanislado Cantu Jr. on May 15, 1966 in Robstown. They moved to Abilene that same year. He passed away in 1991. Consuelo loved taking care of her family and worked as a homemaker. She loved to play the guitar and her church. Consuelo's favorite was her grandkids. She will be dearly missed by her family.

Consuelo is survived by her 3 sons, Ruben Cantu, Rudolfo Cantu and Samuel Cantu all of Abilene; 3 daughters, Estela Cantu of Abilene, Ester C. Quintanilla of Arlington and Sonia De La Paz of Abilene; 5 sisters, Timo Orta of San Antonio, Mary Velasquez of Corpus Christi, Maria De Aces of Corpus Christi, and Diana Cavazos of Arlington; 12 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Consuelo was also preceded in death by her brother, Manuel Alvarez Jr., and her sister Angelita A. Cantu.
