Elsie Corine McFadden, 92, passed away Sunday, August 14, 2016. Graveside services will be held 10:00 AM Thursday, August 18, 2016 at Elmwood Memorial Park, 5750 Hwy 277 South.
Corine was born September 19, 1923 to Isaac Henry Roy and Mary Virginia (Satterfield) Roy in Hugo, Oklahoma. She met Alneer "Mack" McFadden Jr. in Hugo, Oklahoma when he visited there with his father, who was preaching in a meeting at Springs Chapel Church of Christ. After several visits and many letters exchanged, they were married May 7, 1944 in Abilene, Texas.
Corine graduated from Hugo High School in 1941. After graduation, she worked at Southwestern Bell as a telephone operator in Mineral Wells, Texas and in Abilene until the mid 1950's when she retired to be a stay at home mother and housewife. She was a sweet, loving, devoted mother and wife.
Corine's father passed away during the depression when she was fourteen and she helped her mother with her six younger brothers and sisters. Mack always said she raised three batches of kids; her brothers and sisters, their two children and two grandchildren, Jacob and Sarah.
She loved to cook and sew and was an accomplished seamstress. She was a member of the Northwest Church of Christ.
Corine was preceded in death by her husband, Alneer; her parents; two brothers, Fred Roy and George Franklin Roy; and three sisters, Lorine Shipman, Virginia Hazelton and Sarah Morris.
She is survived by her children, Deborah Spivey and Wayne McFadden; six grandchildren, Jacob McFadden, Sarah McFadden, Melissa Reeves Spillane, Brian Nelson, Jason Spivey and Zack Spivey; two sisters, Fern Louise Sundell and husband Carl; Doris Ann Stockard and husband Leroy; brother and sister-in-law Guy and Joyce McFadden; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A special thanks to the staff at Northern Oaks.

Rest in peace Momma.
