Cozie Frances Draper, 100, passed away Saturday, June 27, 2009 in Abilene. Viewing and visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, June 30th at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 HWY 277 South in Abilene. Her funeral service with Pastor Clyde Kieschnick officiating will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, July 1st at Zion Lutheran Church, 2801 Antilley RD in Abilene. Burial will be at 3:00 PM in Resthaven Memorial Park in Midland.
Mrs. Draper was born on March 15, 1909 in Oklahoma and moved to the Big Spring, area as a teenager. She was married to Millard Draper for 53 years when he preceded her in death in 1998. Cozie lived in Midland for 48 years and has been a resident of Abilene for the past 15 years. She loved to crochet and had a project in her basket even when she died. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church where she was a member of the JOY Group and loved getting together with them to play Chickenfoot.
Survivors include her sons, Pete Weinkauf and wife JoAnn of Abilene, George Weinkauf and wife Bernice of Miles; her daughter, Margaret Demetro and husband Frank of Vallejo, California; 19 grandchildren and numerous great and great-great grandchildren.
Along with her husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Richard Weinkauf, her daughter, Frances Dobson, and four brothers.
