Cris Steenblock, 39, beloved Son, It is with heavy hearts that we inform you of the passing of Cris Eric Steenblock, who passed away on August 1st, 2024, at his home in Abilene, Texas. He leaves behind his father, Gary Steenblock, and mother, Pamela Steenblock. Cris will be dearly missed by grandmother Virginia Wentrcek of Spring Branch, along with his Uncle Ed Wentrcek and wife, Tricia, Aunt Nancy W. Russell and husband, Lee, Uncle Alan Wentrcek and wife, Kim, Aunt Kathy Pierson, Aunt Trudy Doerffler and husband, Don, and many cousins.

In memory of Cris, memorials can be made to Grace Lutheran Church in Abilene or a charity of your choice. A memorial service will be held on August 28th at 11 AM at Grace Lutheran Church. Additionally, a family memorial will take place at St. Paul Lutheran in Bulverde, Texas, on October 16th at 11 AM.

Cris attended, Jim Ned, and graduated from Eagle Charter. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, where he found solace in his faith despite life's struggles.

Cris was known for his love of nature and cherished time spent at the family ranch in Coleman. He found peace in stargazing and marveling at the night sky's beauty. He had a talent for painting and writing, expressing his creative spirit through his art.

One of Cris's greatest joys was watching birds, particularly cardinals, robins, and hummingbirds. He once shared a special moment with a hummingbird that landed on his hand, often marveling at these creatures as a sign of a higher power.

Life posed challenges for Cris following the loss of his beloved brother Scott in 2014, who was not only his brother but his best friend. Through it all, Cris remained resilient and sought comfort in his faith and his love for nature.

Cris will be remembered for his kind heart, love of family, and his unwavering belief in something greater than himself. May his soul find peace, and may his memory live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
