Cruz Deleon

Cruz DeLeon, 71, of Abilene, TX passed away Friday, December 10, 2021, in Abilene, TX.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, December 22, 2021, at 10:00 AM at Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel, 5750 US HWY 277 S., Abilene, TX 79606. Interment will follow at Abilene City Cemetery. A visitation will be held Tuesday, December 21, 2021, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM with a rosary beginning at 7:00 PM in the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel.

Cruz was born on May 3, 1950, in Edroy, Texas to the late Moises DeLeon and Genoveva Perez DeLeon. He worked many years for Frito Lay before retiring. Cruz had a wonderful sense of humor, enjoyed dancing, laughing and spend time with family and friends. He enjoyed being in the outdoors and will be dearly missed by family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Ana DeLeon Jimenez.

Cruz is survived by his Children, Mary Jane DeLeon (Paul), Cruz DeLeon Jr. (Sarah), Kris DeLeon, Cindy DeLeon-Merrill  (Jamie), and Stacy DeLeon; 22 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; siblings, Angel DeLeon (Juana), Clemente DeLeon, Josie Albright, Estella Diaz, Carmen Vasquez (Rodolfo), Genoveva Rojas (Luis), Amelia O’Con (Ric) and Ester Villanueva (Jose).
