Dannie Melissia Wallace French, 69, of Abilene passed away Thursday, December 31, 2015 in Abilene.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday, January 5, at 2:00 PM at the Oldham Lane Church of Christ. Burial will follow at Elmwood Memorial Park. Visitation with the family will be Monday from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Elmwood Funeral Home.
Dannie was born on December 04, 1946 in Seymour, TX to the late S. J. Wallace and Shirley Studer Wallace. She graduated from Abilene High School in 1965 and began working for City Hall of Abilene. After sometime there she began a 38 year career with Abilene State School, working first in the Human Services department, and then the Accounting department. During her tenure in the Human Services department, she met and interviewed her future husband, Ron French. This chance encounter sparked a 44 year marriage. To everyone who knew her, she was a devoted and loving wife, mother, "Mema", great grandmother, and sister. But, above these, she was a wonderful Christian example to all.
Dannie was also preceded in death by her daughter, Stephanie French Thompson and her sister Shirley Ann Obenchain.
Dannie is survived by her husband Ron; Children, Monica French of Richardson, and , Amy French of Abilene; grandchildren, Millie Castoldi of Richardson, Audrey Becker and Avery Johnson of Abilene, Joshua Hartley of Merkel, Colton Johnson of Dallas; great grandchildren, Aiden Lee Johnson and Noah Rodriguez both of Abilene; a sister, Mary Conway of Georgetown; brother, Michael Wallace of Abilene.
