David Dixon

David "Buddy" Dixon, 74, of Abilene passed away Thursday, November 26, 2015 in Abilene.

Graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, November 30 at Elmwood Memorial Park. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 12:00 to 2:00 PM.

Buddy was born on April 8, 1941 in Darlington, South Carolina to the late Henry Dixon and Clara Dixon. He served his country in the US Navy on the U.S.S. Pine Island as a radar technician. Buddy married Shirley Wallace on September 17, 1962 in Midland, TX. He worked as a truck driver and retired from Coca Cola and then went on to work for Hendrick Medical Center as a courier for 15 years. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

Buddy is survived by his wife Shirley; children, Sherrie Horn and husband Dwayne of Abilene, Melinda Langston and husband Andy of Abilene, Debbie Dixon of Abilene, Kimberly Caram and husband Ralph of Wichita Falls, Aaron Dixon of Abilene; 8 grandchildren; 1 great grandson; numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his extended family Dr. Laura Bennett, Dr. Jeremy Perry and the"tootie tots" Jordan and Kai.

The family would like to thank Dr. Shudde, Dr. Brown, Dr. Carlson, Dr. Vargese and the staff of Hendrick Medical Center for the excellent care and concern given during this difficult time.
