With the setting of a beautiful sunset, David T. Gomez (81) peacefully passed away on November 28, 2024. David leaves behind a legacy of love and light that will continue to shine like a sunrise in the hearts of all who knew him”.
David was born February 4, 1943, in Ciudad Acuña Coahuila Mexico to Moises Gomez and Juana Gomez. At the age of 27 he moved to Abilene TX. where he dedicated his life to his family. David since the age of 14 has worked to help provide for his family needs and has instilled the value of hard work. David had a heart of servant and would give you the shirt off his back. David was a friend and knew no stranger his favorite pass time was visiting his family and enjoying pan dulce cookies and coffee.
Left to cherish David’s memory is his wife Maria Gomez of Abilene TX, son David Gomez (Blanca), Diana Mendoza (Bernabi), Carlos Gomez and Cristina Pequeno (Pete).
Siblings brother Samuel Gomez, sister Rebecca Garcia (Franscico) brother Felipe Gomez, brother Arturo Gomez, sister Elizabeth Delapaz (Jose) and brother Armando Gomez (Marta).
Grandchildren Nick Barton, Samantha Barton, Xavier Barton, April Garcia, Jessica Rojas, Marissa Hernanadez, Rosamaria Gomez, Adreana Gomez, Breyanna Gomez, Robert Gomez, Karisma Rodriguez, Ariel Pequeno, Pete R. Pequeno and Gabriel Pequeno and 19 Great Grandchildren.
David was proceeded in death by his parents Moises and Juana Gomez, brother Josue Gomez, sister Ernestina Randez, brother Efrin Gomez, brother Jose Maria Gomez, son Roberto Gomez and granddaughter Maria Leticia Mares and great nephew Michael Delapaz.
Viewing Service to celebrate his life will be held on Wednesday December 4, 2024 at 6:00 pm at Elmwood Funeral Home. He will be laid to rest at Elmwood Memorial Park December 5, 2024 at 10:00 a.m.
Pallbearers will be Esequiel Gomez, Pete Pequeno Jr., Moses Gomez, Alredo Garcia, Reyes Delapaz and Pete R. Pequeno.
