David Jefferson

David Wayne Jefferson was born October 4th 1963 in Abilene, Tx. On October 16th 2019, he made his transition from this earthly life to be with the Lord. He was 56. Visitation will be 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM Thursday, October 24, 2019 at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 Hwy US-277 South Abilene, Texas. Funeral services will be held 11:00 PM Friday, October 25, 2019 at Elmwood Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 5750 Hwy US-277, Abilene, Texas. Interment will follow the service in Abilene City Cemetery.

David attended schools in Abilene, Tx and at an early age, he joined Shiloh Baptist Church, Abilene Texas. He loved animals, he enjoyed drawing portraits of people and animals, he loved music, playing the guitar and he loved his family. He wore glasses at the early age of 4 and was nicknamed “professor.” During his teenage years, David and several of his cousins were called the Jefferson singers. David played the guitar while his cousins singed the song, “Lord, you don’t have to move my mountain, just give me the strength to climb, and “It’s gonna rain.”

Preceding him in death is his father Sgt. William J. Jefferson. To cherish his life’s legacy, David leaves his mother Virdie Beatrice Green of Bryan, Tx. Karen Conner (Bobby) Abilene, Tx. Gwen Morris (Sammy) Houston, Tx. Wesley Jefferson Bryan, Tx. Erica Washington (Fred) Bryan, Tx. Monica Williams (Kelvin) Houston, Tx., and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
