David Mackey

David D. Mackey, 62, passed away on November 15, 2010 in Fort Worth. Graveside funeral service will be at 12 noon, on Saturday, November 20, 2010 at Elmwood Memorial Park, 5750 Hwy 277 South. Visitation will be on Friday, November 19, 2010 from 6 till 8 PM, at Elmwood Funeral Home.
David was born on November 21, 1947 in McCook, Nebraska to Donald D. and Phyllis Mackey. He graduated from Bear Creek High School in Lakewood, Co. and attended York College in York, NE where he received an Associate of Arts Degree. David served our country in the US Navy as a radioman 1st class for four years before returning to college at Abilene Christian University where he earned his Bachelors Degree in education. For several years he worked as the director of admissions at Hendrick Hospital in Abilene. He taught at Corsicana High School for twelve years, was a member of the Church of Christ, and was active in several theater groups in both Abilene and Corsicana.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Donald D. and Phyllis J. Mackey.
He is survived by his brother, Denis Mackey of Aurora, Colorado, and his three children, Jennifer, Justin, and Benjamin his brother, Stephen Mackey, of Mesa, Arizona and his two children, Jeanette and Shaun.
