David Mendoza

David Mendoza, 43, passed away Saturday, November 6, 2021 in Abilene. A visitation will be 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM with the rosary to begin at 7:00 PM Monday, November 8, 2021 in the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel, 5750 Hwy 277 South.  A funeral service will be 10:00 AM, Tuesday, November 9, 2021 in the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel.

David was born January 13, 1978 in Hamlin, Texas to Jenaro and Janie Mendoza. David was a truck driver for over 20 years with his most recent job being with Miller Dirt Homes and Construction. He loved the Pittsburg Steelers and high school football, especially his home town team the Hamlin Pied Pipers. He was an excellent father, wonderful son, and a great brother. David was very loved and will be dearly missed.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and both sets of grandparents.

David is survived by his two sons, Alex and Gabriel Mendoza; his three brothers, JR Mendoza and his wife Maggie, Johnny Mendoza and his wife Rosie, and Chris Mendoza and his wife Gaby; his bonus daughter, Alexis Castro; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
