Debra Landers

January 10, 1955 — April 18, 2021

Debra Louise Stinchcomb Landers passed on to Glory on April 18th, 2021. Graveside services will be handled by Elmwood Funeral Home on Thursday, April 22 at 1100 A.M.by Brother Bob Cheatham. She passed at Hendricks Hospice from Pneumonia and an internal infection. She opted out of a viewing and funeral and chose cremation long ago because she didn't want you to see her like this.

She was born in Atlanta, Georgia on January 10th, 1955, the second daughter of Gene and Faye Echols Stinchcomb. She married Ralph Landers at Fort Sill, Oklahoma on 24 January, 1981. She followed him to Germany, Oklahoma and Pennsylvania before he retired from the Army to his hometown of Abilene, Texas.

Over the years Debra worked as a Teacher's Aide at Park Lane School in Lawton, Oklahoma (Most enjoyable), a Breakfast hostess at a hotel in Pennsylvania, and as a Clerk in a Nursing Home in Lawton (not so much). Her most important and rewarding job though was raising her daughter Katie, who was the bright and shining light of her life.

She is predeceased by her parents, Gene and Faye Stinchcomb, and her daughter Katie in 2005.

She is survived by her husband Ralph of the home in Abilene, Sisters Velma Hawkins, Lawton, Oklahoma, Margie Larson, Lee Summit, Missouri, Jo Ann West, Winder, Georgia, and Betty Burlingame of Erie, Pennsylvania. She is also survived by several good friends and relations and her Comfort Dog, Jayme Louise.

Debra has had several medical problems over the last few years. We would like to acknowledge and thank Doctors Chad Ezzell, Ishmeet Wahlia , Havindar Arora and Rhett Lohman, and the staff at Fresenius South where she had a standing appointment for dialysis three days a week for four years.
