Deidra Simmons

Deidra Mae Simmons of Abilene, TX went to be with the Lord on December 15, 2016. She was born August 27, 1950 in Winters, TX to Walter and Barbara Templeton. She graduated high school in 1969 at Sweetwater High School in Sweetwater TX. She then graduated nursing school in Mineral Wells, TX. Deidra married Gary Simmons on May 15, 1973 in Abilene, TX. She was a member of Victory Church in Abilene TX. Deidra was a nurse for 42 years. After retirement she became a foster grandparent.
Deidra is preceded in death by her father Walter Templeton, maternal grandparents, and paternal grandparents.
Survived by husband, Gary Simmons of Abilene TX ,son, Gary Michael Simmons of Abilene TX, daughter, Barbara Michele Simmons of Wichita Falls TX, mother, Barbara Rountree of Abilene TX, sisters, Debbie Best of Abilene TX, Sarah Windland of Merkel TX, Susan Teague of Merkel TX, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
