Delton Joe Jackson, 76, was met at the gate by his Savior, Saturday, April 28, 2012. Delton was born in Girard, TX, April 17, 1935 to Clyde and Eda Magill Jackson. He graduated from Jayton High School in 1954 and then served his country in the Army during the Korean conflict. After the Army, he returned to work for the Texas Highway Department in Hamlin where he met his wife of 51 years, Joyce Cooper. They had two sons, Keith and Kyle. He retired from the Highway Department in 1992.
Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, May 5, 2012, at Broadview Baptist Church, 2500 South 27th St in Abilene, with burial to follow at Elmwood Memorial Park. Visitation for family and friends will be from 6:00 8:00 PM on Friday, May 4, 2012 at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 Hwy 277 South.
Delton is survived by his wife, Joyce sons, Keith and wife Dana of Clyde, Kyle and his fiance Sarah of Abilene a brother, Edwin and wife Donna of Snyder brotherinlaw, Gary Cooper and wife Sue of Palo Pinto grandchildren, Ashley Taylor and husband Jacoby of Hobbs, NM, Chelsea Feliciano and husband Freddy of New York, NY, Chris Jackson of Hobbs, NM, Emily Jackson of Hobbs, NM, Clay Jackson of Abilene, and Kayla Jackson of Abilene1 greatgrandson, Brayden Taylor several nieces and nephews, and his beloved dog, Tinker.
Pallbearers will be nephews Gary Lee Cooper, Terry Cooper, Thomas Montelondo, Kevin Jackson, Darren Jackson, and David Jackson.
