Dennis L. Paschal, 86, passed away February 27, 2010 at his home. Visitation will be from 5:00 till 7:00 PM on Monday, March 1, 2010 at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 Hwy 277 South. His funeral service will be 1:00 PM Tuesday, March 2, 2010 at First United Methodist Church, 202 Butternut, officiated by Reverends David Black and Bill Alexander. Interment will follow the service at the Texas State Veterans Cemetery at Abilene.
Dennis was born October 15, 1923 in Ballinger, TX to Harry and Irvie Lee Paschal. He grew up and attended school in Ballinger. He enlisted in the Army Air Corp in 1942 and had duty in World War II, ETO. He was a member of First Church of God until its closing five years ago and was presently a member of First United Methodist Church. Dennis attributes any and all success in life to his faith in God and Gods faithfulness to him. He was a former president of Abilene Cactus Lions Club, was an avid football fan, and enjoyed showing his family the great love he had for them.
Dennis is survived by his wife, Marjorie four daughters, Janice Stevens of Hawley, Deborah Stevens of Hawley, Kelly Engel and husband Phil of Abilene, Joanne Corley and husband Johnny of White Deer, TX twelve grandchildren, Tammy Copeland, Paul Starr and wife Danielle, Lisa Hill and husband Phil, Trey Stevens, Teri Stevens, Jennifer Engel, Jeffrey Engel, Eriac Corley, Byron Corley, Kayla Corley, Mandy Green and husband Daryl and Josh Stevens sixteen greatgrandchildren three sisters, MayDell Watkins, Lidell Dunlap, and Wanda Kieltyka one brother Wayne Paschal and numerous nieces, nephew, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents one infant son, Howard two brothers, Bill and Elvis Paschal.
