Dewey Bevills

Dewey Duane Bevills, 71, passed away Thursday, November 20, 2014 in Abilene. Visitation will be 6:00 till 8:00 PM, Friday, November 21, 2014 at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 Hwy 277 South. Funeral service will be 11:00 AM, Saturday, November 22, 2014 in the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow the service in Elmwood Memorial Park.

Dewey was born in Santa Anna, TX on March 12, 1943 to parents, Dewey Franklin and Jewel Marie Bevills. He was a graduate of Coleman High School. He married Carolyn Craig in 1963 in Coleman, TX. While living in San Angelo in 1965 he began his career with Merchants Motor Lines. After relocating to Abilene he continued to work for Merchants until his retirement in 1995 after thirty years of service.

He enjoyed tube fishing, camping, dirt bike riding, and could cook a great brisket. Most of all he loved his family and spending time with them.

Dewey is survived by his wife, Carolyn Craig Bevills one daughter, Leticia McJimsey and husband Kenny of Snyder one son, Johnny Bevills and wife Stephanie of Abilene five grandchildren, Zachary Williams and wife Lacey, Tyler Williams and wife Kendra, Spencer Williams, Jared Bevills, Jessica Bevills one great grandson, Bryson Williams one brother and one sister and his terrier, Tiger.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother.
