Dia Nichols Miller, 74 of Abilene, TX, passed peacefully with faith and grace to her Heavenly Home, surrounded by loving family on the evening of June 17, 2022, after a short battle with lung cancer.
Visitation will be Wednesday, June 22, 2022, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Elmwood Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 23, 2022, at 10:00 AM at Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Elmwood Memorial Park.
Dia was born on August 7, 1947, in Rotan, TX to Inez and Raymond Nichols Sr. She grew up and attended schools in Hamlin Texas and moved to Fort Worth where she met and married the love of her life, Les Miller on April 26, 1975. Dia worked hard with Les, and they built a thriving insurance business together. Living in Abilene since 1991 she served on the Boards of Fairway Oaks Women’s Golf Association, West TX Women’s Golf Association and the Abilene Opera Association. She enjoyed traveling, RV trips, cookouts, golfing and spending time with family and friends.
Dia deeply loved her Lord, family and friends and will be dearly missed.
Dia is survived by her husband Les Miller, her children; son John Rabjohn and wife Melissa of Lewisville, daughter Kimberly Walker and husband Brian of San Antonio, daughter Niki Miller of Lubbock, daughter Annie Miller of Abilene, Daughter Ashley England and husband Michael of Abilene; 17 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; her brother Raymond Nichols Sr and wife Phyllis of Knox City, sister Linda Hill and husband Jerry of Stamford; numerous extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother, father and baby boy Matthew Ray.
It would be Dia's pleasure to see lots of purple to celebrate her love of life and victory of entering Heaven.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Central Baptist Church-Hamlin TX, Hendricks Home for Children or New Horizons Ranch and Center. These were all near and dear to her heart.
