Diego Hernandez

Diego Hernandez, 60, passed away on January 9, 2025, in Abilene, Texas.

On November 13, 1964, Diego was born in Ciudad Acuna, Mexico to his parents Melquiadez and Bruna.

Visitation will be held Thursday, January 16, 2025, 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM at Elmwood Funeral Home 5750 Hwy 277 South. Funeral service will be held on Friday, January 17, 2025, at 12:00 PM in the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Elmwood Memorial Park.

For 21 years, Diego was a devoted employee at Elmwood Funeral Home & Memorial Park, where he worked diligently in the cemetery. He also spent some of that time working in Odessa for Sunset Memorial Gardens. His work ethic and dedication were commendable, underscoring his respect for the lives he helped commemorate. He loved to barbecue and watch the Dallas Cowboy games at the Last Stop. One of his biggest joys was spending time with his family, grandchildren, and friends. Singing and dancing were just one of the many things that Diego enjoyed doing. Diego leaves behind two fur babies that he loved dearly, Nova and Chiquita.

He is survived by his loving wife, Brenda Aguilar; his children, Analuisa and husband Eric, Johnathan and wife Angelica, Emmanuel and wife Chortney, Rosalinda, Cory, Gabriela, David, and Arianna and husband Andrew, his grandchildren, Josiah A, Rosalia C, Arylnn A, Liam A, Eric O, Nayeli G, Daniel H, Sofia H, Abigail H, Bailee H; his brother, Aurelio Perez and wife Maria; his sister, Feliciana Perez and husband Jose Rivera; his adopted children, Chloe and Slice; his brothers-in-law, Eddy Jimenez, Jesus Moreno, Frankie; his sister-in-law, Lesa Jimenez, Brandi Moreno, Victoria, Rachel, Melinda and husband Juan Pablo; his father-in-law, Jesus Moreno Sr.; his God son, Tonito; many nieces, nephews and cousins; his family in Ciudad Acuna, Mexico; and his Elmwood family and friends.

Diego is preceded in death by his father, Melquidez Perez; his mother, Bruna Hernandez; his mother-in-law, Rosita Moreno.

He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
