Dillard Roberts

Dillard Roberts 74, went home to the arms of Jesus and his beloved wife, Thursday July 19, 2018. He was a wonderful husband, dad, Pa, brother and friend.

Dillard was born in Abilene, September 20, 1943 to SD and Bertha Garrett Roberts. He grew up in Abilene, made many friends and was loved by all who knew him.
He married Sandra Garner August 11, 1961 in Abilene. They had a great life together until she was called home to be with her Lord and Savior January 18, 2011. They would've celebrated their 50th anniversary that year. Dillard began work at Automation Industries (later Lock Heed) in the early 1960's as a machinist. Before leaving he had earned the position of Industrial Engineer over Manufacturing Techniques. During his retirement years he owned and successfully operated Roberts Core Supply. Dillard will be greatly missed by all.

Preceding him in death are his wife, Sandra Garner Roberts; his grandson, Stevie DeLeon (December 2011); brother, Doyle Roberts; sister, Goldia Allison.

Surviving Dillard are his daughter, Kristi Roberts; two sons, Josh Roberts and Leslie Roberts (wife Paula); grandchildren, Brayden, Payton Roberts, Taylor Roberts, and several grown grandchildren; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Gary and Rentha Roberts and DC and Jerri Roberts; two sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Andrea and Al Mulheron, Mike Garner, and Peggy Roberts; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Pallbearers will be Gary Roberts, DC Roberts, Al Mulheron, Bubba Thomas, Bobby Johnson, Mark Sphuler, Charlie Bruton, Chance Lassiter, Dan Cranor, and Curtis Cummins.

Visitation will be Sunday, July 22, 2018 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 Hwy 277 South. A Funeral Service will be Monday, July 23, 2018 at 10:00 AM in the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow the service in Elmwood Memorial Park.

The family suggests memorial donations may be made to St.Jude Childrens Hospital or charity of your choice.
