Services to celebrate the life of Dolores Goyne will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, July 15, 2009 in the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel, 5750 HWY 277 South with Reverend Garland Wallace officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Memorial Park.
Dolores, 84, was called home by her Lord and Savior on Friday, July 10, 2009. She was surrounded by her friends and loved ones.
Dolores was born June 22, 1925 in Lamesa, Texas to James Raymond and Emily Bell Spears. She graduated from Lamesa High School in 1942 and was a teletype operator for Western Union for 10 years. She moved to Abilene in 1951 and was a volunteer at the Food Bank of Abilene for 7 years. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene.
Her parents and two sisters, Raylene Clark and Juanita Gore preceded her in death.
Survivors include one daughter, Debra Goyne Crawford of Abilene; two brothers, Ron Spears of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Don Spears of Midland; 2 nieces and 6 nephews.
The family will receive friends at Elmwood Funeral Home from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, July 14th.
