Dolores Kaufmann

Dolores Kaufmann passed away Saturday, March 16, 2013 with family at her side. Rosary will be Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at 7 PM at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 Hwy 277 South. Catholic mass will be 10 AM, Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment follows at Elmwood Memorial Park.
Mrs. Kaufmann was born October 8, 1949 in Tamaulipas, Mexico to Guadalupe Ramirez and Juan Castro. She married Ewald Kaufmann in 1968. They moved their young family to Abilene, Texas in 1977. Dolores and Ewald raised seven children until his death in 1997 at the age of 49. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She fought a long and difficult battle with recurrent breast cancer.
She is survived by her mother seven siblings seven children, Carla and Antonio Castaneda, Rudolf and Michelle Kaufmann, William and Lupe Kaufmann, Marcus and Monica Kaufmann, Sharon and Chris West, Daniel and Lauren Kaufmann, Andrew and Brandi Kaufmann and seventeen grandchildren.
