Donald Lynn Turner, 57, passed away Tuesday, February 03, 2009 at his home in Abilene. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, February 6th in the Reflection Garden of Elmwood Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Thursday at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 HWY 277 South.
Lynn was born on September 17, 1951 in Abilene the son of Clarence Sidney Turner Jr. and Violet Ruth Yeager Turner. He grew up and attended high school in Sweetwater and attended Hardin-Simmons University. He worked a short time at the Abilene Reporter News in 1977 before going into the oil business primarily working for Sweetwater Pump which included managing the Ranger branch of that business. He married Kathy Lynn Brown on June 3, 1979. He has worked in construction for the last several years, and has been the owner of Interior Marble for the last 5 years. Lynn was a proud father and grandfather; he enjoyed music and dancing and was very involved taking his son Colton to various Sporting Clay events while he was growing up.
Survivors include his wife, Kathy of Abilene; his mother, Violet Ruth Turner of Abilene; his son, Colton Ryan Turner and wife Victoria of Abilene; his daughters, Camey Leigh VonBergen of Sherman, and Misty Dawn McArthur and companion, Derrell Jones of Abilene; his grandchildren, Candice Leigh McArthur, Jayton Lee Jones and Sidney Ryan Turner.
His father and one brother, Clarence Sidney Turner III preceded him in death.
