When she was just a little girl in the springtime, she danced among the wildflowers at the Messbox down at the farm in Robert Lee. Born February 27,1928 in Cedarvale, New Mexico to Marlin Jacob Richardson and wife Annie Myrtle, she was a blessing to her parents and siblings. She was class valedictorian in 1945 and met and married the love of her life Harold Louis Springer in 1953.
She had five children who adore her to this day, Anne Ledbetter of Odessa, Texas; Roy Springer and wife Sharon of Montgomery, Texas; Wilburn Springer and wife Shirley of Abilene, Texas; Fred Springer of Los Angeles, California; and Sheryl Doss of Abilene, Texas. She had 9 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and 14 great-great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.
Although she was born in time to live through The Great Depression, WWII, Korea and Vietnam, she always kept up with technology. "Oh that last e-mail? That was just my great-great grandma checking up to see how I was doing." She would do that often. She was the most loving and giving person you could have ever met, a true West Texan and a genuine pioneer of this area.
Walking before her through The Pearly Gates were her beloved husband and WWII veteran TSgt Harold Louis Springer of Abilene, sister Nora Wyatt of Robert Lee, brother Boone Richardson of Dallas, brother John Richardson of Nashville, Tennessee and special son-in-law Mike Ledbetter of Odessa.
When we see a special Texas sunrise, an old windmill, or bluebonnets sharing their glory in the spring, we will remember you, Mom. You are forever alive in our hearts.
