Doris Briley

Doris Syl Briley, 80, passed away Sunday, March 20, 2011 in Abilene. Visitation for family and friends will be Tuesday, March 22, 2011 from 6 till 8 PM at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 Hwy 277 South. Her funeral service will be at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel.
Doris was born March 12, 1931 in Memphis, TN to Victor Ernest and Audry Elizabeth Williams. She moved to Abilene in 1949 where she met Cecil, CE Briley at Cobb Park and they were married in 1950. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Chruch and Beta Sigma Phi sorority. She enjoyed playing bingo and going gambling. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them every chance she could get.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Cecil Briley four children, Debra Briley of Abilene, Mike Briley and wife, Karen of Richardson, Pam Roe of Abilene, Terry Briley and wife, Lisa of Abilene ten grandchildren twentytwo great grandchildren her twin sister, Mary Lois Alecksick of California one brother, Jim Williams of Tennessee.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents nine siblings and two grandsons, Victor Eugene Roe and Jason Lefever.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations are suggested to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
