Dorothy Faye Agnew, 94, passed from this world on June 18, 2021, in Abilene. Visitation will be 6:00 - 8:00 PM, Wednesday, June 23, 2021, at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 Hwy 277 South. Her funeral service will be 10:00 AM, Thursday, June 24, 2021, in the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Russell Ueckert Officiating. Interment will follow the service in Elmwood Memorial Park.
Dorothy was born in Radium, (Jones County) TX on January 12, 1927, to John and Mattie Daisy Smart Lott. She married LC on November 24, 1965, and in 1967 together they opened Carpenters Hall. In 1974, they opened the Ponderosa Ballroom, now known as Guitars 'n Cadillacs. Together along with operating the business they hosted many guests throughout the years such as Ray Price, Jerry Reed, and Asleep at the Wheel among many others. Above all Dorothy loved her family and spending time with them was her greatest joy.
She was preceded in death by both parents; a son, Larry Carpenter; her husband, LC Agnew; sister, Clara Baccus; brothers, JL Lott, James Lott, Delmer Lott, Elmer Lott, Otis Lott; and a stepdaughter, Beverly Bell.
She is survived by her daughters, Dolores Ueckert and husband, Darrell, of Noodle, TX and Judy Hollowell and husband, Jackie of Novice, TX, her sons,
Bill Carpenter of Bandera, TX, and Jay Baccus and wife, Vicki of Anson, TX; her Stepdaughter, Susie Conly and husband, Wayne, of Abilene, TX; her stepson, Charles Agnew, of Noble, LA; grandsons, Tim Carpenter and wife, Jaime, Russell Ueckert and wife, Linda, Matt Ueckert and wife, Heather, Randy Roberts and wife, Kelly, Jeff Roberts and wife, Tabi, Cory Carpenter, Austin Baccus and wife, Jaci, and Ethan Baccus; granddaughters, Shawn Todd and husband, Joe, Lori Singletary and husband, Hershel, Stacy Faglie and husband, Jack; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; she is also survived by one brother, Marvin Lott and wife, Carol; numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews and many friends made through the years.
