Dorothy Stroope

Dorothy Jean Stroope, 78, of Abilene went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 21, 2014 in Abilene.

Graveside service will be held Tuesday September 23 at 2:00 PM at Elmwood Memorial Park, Ten Commandments Section.

Dorothy was the born on April 27, 1936 in Cado Springs, TX to the late Richard Lee Phillips and Ada Lee Smart. She was the youngest of 11 children. Dorothy married Ray Junior Stroope on January 2, 1956 in Abilene and shared 58 happy years together. She was a homemaker and dearly loved her family.

Dorothy is survived by her husband, Ray Junior Stroope daughter Deanna Stroope son, James Stroope daughter, Phyllis Price 6 grandchildren, Kaycee, Seth, Garrett, Jr., Tara and Rhett.

Dorothy was also preceded in death by numerous family members and was the last living child of Ada and Richard Phillips.
