Dottie Chaka

Dottie Chaka, 68, passed away Friday, March 9, 2018 at her residence. Visitation will be 6:00 PM, Tuesday, March 13, 2018 followed by a prayer service beginning at 7:00 PM at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 Hwy 277 South. A graveside funeral service will be 1:00 PM, Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at the Texas State Veteran's Cemetery of Abilene, 7457 W. Lake Road.

Dottie was born April 6, 1949 in Erie, Pennsylvania to parents, Edward and Dorothy Foulkrod. She married Ted Chaka on May 11, 1968. She was a faithful military wife as they were stationed in Louisiana, the Philippians, and Las Vegas before retiring in San Angelo, TX. They relocated to Abilene in 2015 and became members of Holy Family Catholic Church.

Dottie is survived by her husband of forty-nine years, Ted; her three sons, Ted A Chaka and wife Sue, Shane A Chaka and wife Sheri, John P Chaka and wife Summer; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one sister, Betty Hayes; three brothers, Albert, Donald, and Douglas Foulkrod; and one aunt, Rose Cornblott.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Jean Kelly, and one brother, Edward Foulkrod.
