Douglas Harris

Douglas Miller Harris, 80, passed away Monday, June 6, 2016. Graveside services will be 2:00 PM Thursday, June 9, 2016 at Elmwood Memorial Park, 5750 Hwy 277 South.

Douglas was born March 12, 1936 in Mansfield, Arkansas to Mansel and Retha Harris. He married Donna Reekers on May 27, 1956 in Lomita, California. He worked as a machinist in the aerospace industry for Boeing. Douglas and Donna made their home in Abilene after retirement.

He is survived by his wife, Donna; two children, Debbie Sierra of Midland and Douglas Michael Harris of California; three grandchildren, Joe, Nicole and Andrew; two great-grandchildren, Sydney and Troy. He had two more great-grandchildren on the way.

Douglas was an amazing man, with a great sense of humor. He loved his grandchildren and enjoyed collecting coins. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
