Drew Washington, 54, beloved Father, Husband, and Grandfather, was called to his eternal resting place on January 22, 2020. He entered this world on December 26,1965 in Odessa, TX, born to Jimmy Ray Callaway and Evelyn Washington. Drew spent his childhood years in Dallas. He was a member of the Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church. His latter teenage years were spent in Sweetwater, Texas. He graduated from Sweetwater High and immediately joined the workforce. He eventually migrated to Abilene. In 1996, he met Rosie Hermosillo. They spent the next 24 years together. Drew was a faithful employee of Cintas Corporation, where he worked for 14 years. Drew had an undying love for the Dallas Cowboys. He considered himself to be one of their greatest fans. During his spare time, you could find him listening to music while watering his grass. Drew enjoyed working in his yard and took pride in having the prettiest yard on the block. When he was not taking care of the yard, he was barbecuing. Drew had a deep love for barbecuing. Sun, rain, or snow, if he was in the mood to fire up his pit, he did just that! He loved cooking for others.
Drew was preceded in death by his parents, Jimmy Ray Callaway and Evelyn Mae Washington; paternal grandparents; James and Iantha Callaway; maternal grandparents; James Wiley and Almada Hutchins
He is survived by his wife Rosie Hermosillo. His children: son Drew Kevin, step- son Alex Hermosillo, and daughter Meagan Henry all of Abilene. He survived by his siblings, Darryl Washington of Dallas and Sharon Washington of San Antonio; His grandchildren; Audree Hermosillo, Lacey Henry, Elijah Henry, and Julian Thomas, as well has a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and close friends.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2020, at the Elmwood Memorial Park.
