Earnest Joe Scott, 77, passed away on March 25, 2024, in San Antonio, Texas. A visitation will be held on Monday, April 1, 2024, at 12:00 P.M. at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 Hwy 277 South, Abilene, Tx. The funeral service will follow the visitation at 2:00 P.M. at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 Hwy 277 South, Abilene, Texas. Interment will follow services at Elmwood Memorial Park, 5750 Hwy 277 South, Abilene, Texas.

Earnest was born on November 21,1946 in Randolph, Alabama to his loving parents Chester and Hazel Scott. He married the love of his life Teresa on March 18, 1966, they spent 58 wonderful years together. Earnest dedicated 15 years of his life to proudly serve in the Air Force. After he retired from the Air Force, he traveled for 45 years as a dedicated truck driver. He knew the road like the back of his hand, and he was the personal road map for his family and friends.

Aside from his professional pursuits, Earnest had a wide range of interests that brought him joy. He particularly enjoyed music, fishing, hunting, and spending time with animals. His passion for cars and appreciation for old western shows were also well-known among his family and friends. Earnest was a huge Alabama fan; he never missed a football game even if that meant he had to pull over and watch the game at the closes place with a tv. He was known for being a wise guy, he enjoyed joking around with his family and making everyone laugh with his humor. Earnest always had a positive outlook on life, and he never let his sickness get in the way of things.

Earnest is survived by his loving wife, Maria Teresa Scott; his children, Breanne Barney (Shane), Patricia Raines (Craig), Randall Scott (Charlene), Neal Scott (Salina), Jacklyn Scott (Cornelius Morris), Ruston Scott (Jeanette); his grandchildren, Jeremy, Jeffery, Taylor, Makayla, Xzander, Gianna, Stephan, Avry, Josh, Brittni, Baije, Landon, Jaylon, Hadyn, Zoey, Ethan, Ezra, Zayn; his great grandchildren, Beau Conner, Faith Kirk; his siblings, James, Jerry, Sherry, Kathy; and many more loving family and friends.

Earnest is preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Buddy Scott, Floyd Lee Scott; his sisters, Marie, Barbara.

Earnest will be deeply missed by all who got the privilege of knowing him.
