Edward Davidson

July 6, 1954 — March 27, 2016

Edward "Lee" Davidson left this world Easter Sunday, March 27, 2016. This resurrection day echoes the truth of Lee's resurrection body made whole and complete as He sees Jesus face to face.

Lee was a remarkable man who lived an extraordinary life. He was born 7/6/54 in Alice, Texas. He spent much of his life in Stephenville, Texas and graduated in the Class of "73 at Abilene High School. He married Sue Hendrickson 9/28/74 at Harvey Baptist Church in Stephenville after a whirlwind courtship of just over four months. Lee and Sue were married over forty-one years and have two children, Craig and Candi, who have been the joy of their lives. Lee recently said this of Sue, his helpmate and love of his life: "Sue has been the best wife, mother, and nurse. She takes notes at Dr. office keeps tracks of meds and appointments. She made 3 trips to drug store tonight. May God keep her going. I would not survive without her. She has been by my side for almost 41 years. I have really been leaning hard on her the last 3 months please keep her lifted up in prayer too." Their marriage is testament to God's ordained purpose for the two who were joined as one.

Lee and Sue spent their early years living in Bartlesville, Oklahoma as he worked in the oil industry. They moved to Abilene in 1981. After graduating from Cisco Junior college, Lee became Automotive Instructor at Cisco where he taught the past twenty three years. His time there benefited many and Lee is eternally grateful for the compassion extended to him by those at Cisco during his illness. He often said even through his own suffering that he was such a blessed man as he thanked God for His continued provision.

As an avid fisherman, Lee felt the world needed more tackle boxes than X boxes. His first date with Sue, after all, was a "fishing" date. Lee and his son, Craig enjoyed many fishing trips to the Texas coast as well. Lee was also his daughter, Candi's, biggest fan and cheerleader as she shared her gift as a fiddler and violinist in various venues. One of the ways Lee showed his love for his fellow man was by donating over thirty-six gallons of blood through the years. He also ascribed to the truth his life was saved by the biggest blood donor of all; Jesus.

Lee was a member of Southwest Park Baptist Church and tried his best to be there for services even during the many months of his illness.

Lee is survived by his wife, Sue, his children, Craig and Candi (Daniel) Ice, his mother and father, Bud and Wanda Davidson, sisters Jeannie (Lee) Hilley, Connie (Daryle) Brown, and Jane (Nick) Celaya, and his sister-in-laws, Jo (James) Phillips and Ginger (Tim) Jones.

His celebration of life will be held Thursday, 3/31/16 at 2 pm at Elmwood Funeral Home in Abilene, Texas. (5750 US Highway 277 S Abilene, TX 79606) Visitation will be Wednesday 3/30/16 from 6:00-8:00 pm Justin Holloway, Abilene, Texas, will honor the life and legacy of Lee in scripture and spoken word as minister, brother in Christ, and friend.
