Edward Lopez

Edward Lopez, passed away peacefully on April 29. 2024. A visitation will be held on Friday, May 10, 2024, at 6:00 pm in the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel, 5750 Hwy 277 South, Abilene, TX. A Funeral Service will take place on Saturday, May 11, 2024, at 11:00 am in the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel.

Edward was Born and raised in Abilene, Texas, to Jose R. and Juanita Lopez. He was a proud graduate of Abilene High School. Edward devoted over 40 years to his work as a chemical processor at the Crown Cork and Seal company. His dedication to his profession was matched only by his unwavering devotion to his family.

On February 2, 1974, Edward married the love of his life, Tina Lopez, with whom he shared 44 years of cherished memories and unwavering companionship. Through sickness and health, she remained his steadfast partner, a testament to the bond shared over the years. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life, particularly fishing and golfing. A loyal fan of the Los Angeles Chargers, Edward's Sundays were often spent cheering them on with pride. A man of deep faith, Edward was a dedicated member of his church, Overflow Worship Center, finding solace and strength in his spirituality.

Above all else, Edward treasured the time spent with his grandchildren, who were the light of his life. Their laughter and love brought him immeasurable joy, and he cherished every moment shared with them.

Edward is preceded in death by his parents.

Edward is survived by his life long partner, Tina Lopez; his son, Maurice Lopez and wife Missy; daughter, Nicole Sanchez and husband Johnny; grandchildren, Katriel Lopez, Evan Lopez, Malia Lopez, and Dominic Sanchez; and brothers, Joe Louis Lopez and Chris Lopez and wife Stella.

Edward leaves behind a legacy of love and family values that will be cherished forever. As we gather to honor his memory, let us celebrate a life well-lived, full of love, laughter, and cherished moments that will forever remain in our hearts.
