Edwardo Ruelas

Edwardo Eddie Funny Face Ruelas, 57, passed away Monday, June 10, 2013 in Merkel. Visitation for family and friends will be 6:00 till 8:00 PM, Thursday, June 13, 2103 at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 hwy 277 South. Funeral service will be 11:00 AM, Friday, June 14, 2013 in the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow the service at Elmwood Memorial Park.

Eddie was born in Ciudad Acuna, Mexico, in 1956 to parents, Alejandro Sr. and Carmen Guerra Ruelas. He graduated from Abilene High School and later married Leashia Ann Eaton in 1982. He was a very hard worker and a Jack of all Trades. Eddie worked as a vault teller for First State Bank, was the bar manager for 15 years at Cahoots, and for the last 12 years was a salesman at Crown Carpet until their closing in 2012.
He was a member of First Baptist Church in Merkel and loved everyone. He never met a stranger, loved his animals, and enjoyed life. His door and his heart were always open for everyone.

He was very proud of his family, and their accomplishments were his pride and joy.

Eddie is survived by his wife, Leashia three sons, Edward Nathan Ruelas, Joshua Eric Ruelas and fianc Martha Blankinship, Jason Kyle Ruelas and fianc Shayla Stanfield honorary sons, Dusty Rhodes and fianc Mckenzie Florence, Michael Morton six grandchildren parents, Alejandro Sr. and Carmen Ruelas motherinlaw, Barbara Rodriguez and husband Ramon fatherinlaw, Royce Eaton and wife Hazel two brothers, Alejandro Ruelas Jr. and wife Nancy, Martin G Ruelas and wife Martha sister Sandra R Wise and husband Jim several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
