Efren Hernandez

Efren Hernandez, 69, passed away on November 4, 2021 in Abilene, Texas. A visitation will be 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM, Tuesday, November 9, 2021 in the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel, 5750 Hwy 277 South. The funeral service will be 2:00 PM, Wednesday, November 10, 2021 in the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Elmwood Memorial Park.

Efren was born June 18, 1952 in Mexico to Jose and Francisca Hernandez. On February 11, 1975 Efren married the love of his life, Juanita Hernandez that lived in the same neighborhood. After marriage the couple moved to the United States in 1976.  The couple enjoyed traveling and going to breakfast together. Efren was a painter for 42 years and he truly took pride in the career he loved. He also was a part of a Christian band for many years. Efren was committed to the Lord and loved going to church.  He was a true family man that loved his family above all. His love and dedication will be a legacy that is carried on for generations to come.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his mother and father in law, Arcadio and Mariana Saucedo; his nephew Arron Saucedo; his siblings, Irma Hernandez, Cruz Hernandez, Leopoldo Hernandez, Juanita Hernandez, Enedina Hernandez.

He is survived by his wife, Juanita Hernandez; his children, Efren Hernandez Jr. (Darren), Juanita Carreras, Marianna Juarez (Elvin), and Elias Hernandez (Danielle); his grandchildren, Selah, Araceli, Daylen, Tristan, Itzelh; three siblings, Lupe Sanchez, Rosario Hernandez, Socorro Hernandez; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
