Elizabeth C. Betty Lee, 95, passed away Friday, January 20, 2012 at Wisteria Place. A graveside service with Daniel Hargrave officiating will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday January 23rd in the Garden of Ten Commandments at Elmwood Memorial Park. Viewing will be available beginning at 10:00 AM on Sunday at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 HWY 277 South.
Elizabeth was born on December 1, 1916 in Grandfield, Oklahoma to A.R. and Clara Viola Clark Kennebrew. She graduated from Midland High School and married George Lee Jr. in December of 1933. During WWII, she worked in a bakery and later worked at Langfords as a seamstress and a typist. Elizabeth retired after 15 years with the Abilene Police Department where she was a dispatcherclerk. She was a member of Brookhollow Christian Church.
Elizabeth is survived by one sister, Mary Moore of Abilene her daughter, Wanda Shults of Abilene her son, George Lee and wife Penny of Buffalo Gap 4 grandchildren, Darrel Shults and wife Cheryl of Abilene, Donna Kerr and husband Raymond of Corpus Christi, Tracey Flores and husband Mike of Keller and Jeff Lee and wife Missy of Brownwood 6 great grandchildren, Melissa Flint, Michael and Aaron Flores, Colby, Lauren and Payton Lee and 6 great great grandchildren.
Her brothers, Daniel, Gilbert and Allen Roy Kinnebrew and a sister, Frances Fulmer preceded her in death.
Special thanks from the family to the staff at Wisteria Place and Hospice of the Big Country and to Dr. John Wray and Carol and Dr. Timothy Bumann and staff for all the years of care, kindness and love. May God bless each one.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Hospice of the Big Country, Meals on Wheels or Brookhollow Christian Church.
