Ella Counts

December 16, 1919 — March 28, 2015

Lorene Counts joined her Lord and Savior in Heaven on March 28, 2015. Lorene Counts was born on 12-16-1919 in Miller Creek Community near Bomarton, Texas to Guy and Pearl Shipley. She graduated from Seymour High School and married her one true love, Bob Counts. She later moved to Lueders, Texas and raised her daughter, Sandra, there. She moved to Abilene in 1959 where she became a lifetime member of Hillcrest Church of Christ. Her life was devoted to her family, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She was known for her love of cooking and gardening.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert "Bob" Counts' her daughter, Sandra Counts Hamm; her siblings, Charlie, Leta, Kitty, Thelma, Clem Winford and Kay Shipley; and her husband's siblings, Jane Counts Carducci and Clyde Counts.

She is survived by her granddaughter, Tracie Anderson, and her husband, Doug, of Abilene; her grandson, Todd Johnson, and his wife, Sandra Bravo Johnson, of Irving; her great granddaughter, Leslie Blais, and her husband, Steven, of Prosper; her great grandson, Eric Edwards, and his fiance, Tori Summers, of Abilene; great grandchildren, Zane, Zoe, and Carlo Johnson; several nieces and nephews; and multiple friends and family members.

Graveside funeral service will be 1:00 PM, Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at Elmwood Memorial Park, 5750 Hwy 277 South.
