Elton Jonas

Elton Lynn Jonas, 68, passed away on April 14, 2023, in Abilene, Texas.
A visitation will be held at 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM on Thursday, April 20, 2023, at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 Hwy 277 South, Abilene, Texas. Funeral Services will be at 2:00 PM on Friday, April 21, 2023, at Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel, 5750 Hwy 277 South Abilene, Texas. Interment will follow at Elmwood Memorial Park, 5750 Hwy 277 South, Abilene, Texas.

Elton was born in Littlefield, Texas on September 16, 1954, to his parents Earl and Doris Jonas. Elton was a very charismatic and entertaining person. His personality went well with what he was extremely passionate about, music. He loved to play his guitar, sing, dance and he enjoyed being a part of a band. Elton also enjoyed staying fit. He was a runner and liked to exercise. If he was not "pumping iron" he was running long distances with his ankle weights. Elton was a proud father and truly believed everyone
was capable of achieving their goals through persistence and a positive work ethic. Through his positive encouragement and captivating personality he could uplift anyone who was down and make anyone laugh (especially our Mother Jane Jonas). Above all Elton's faith was most important in his life, he was a true man of God that strived to live by the Word. Elton was an outstanding husband, father, brother, grandfather, and friend, he will be dearly missed by all his family and friends.

Elton is survived by his son, Eric Jonas and wife Lindsay; daughters, Vanessa Kerr and husband Greg,Leah Green and husband Wes , and Carol Jonas; his grandchildren, Kinley Cuevas, Londyn Jonas, Jax Jonas, Deion Arratia, Isaiah Arratia, Paytin Kerr, Alexis Kerr, Brittany Stringer, Aiden Jumper, Justin Polk, and Ryan Polk; great grandchild, Lillie Miller; and his sister, Cynthia Hendricks.

Elton is preceded in death by his father, Earl Jonas; his mother; Doris Thate; his wife, Jane Jonas; and brother, Royce Jonas.
