Elvira Gonzales

Elvira CHIA Gonzales, 98, of Abilene, passed away Wednesday May 24, 2017. Visitation will begin at 6:00 PM followed by a prayer service beginning at 7:00 PM, Thursday May 25, 2017 at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 Hwy 277 South. A funeral mass will be 2:00 PM, Friday May 26, 2017 at St. Vincent Pallotti Catholic Church, 2525 Westview Drive. Interment will follow the service in Elmwood Memorial Park.

Elvira was born June 23, 1918 to Benito and Trinidad Murillo in Mexico. She loved her family and friends dearly. She will be dearly missed.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Juan Chia; her parents; and two brothers, Joe Murillo and Reyes Diaz.

Elvira is survived by her children, Susan Triana, John Chia Jr. and wife Kathy, Dolores Amador, Margret Villanueva and husband Efren, Mary Leija and husband Benny, Robert Chia, Lydia Chia, Stella Chia, Hope Sandoval and husband Robert, Sylvia Laque and husband Tommy; sister, Lydia Hernandez; two brothers, Celestino Chia, and Aurelio Murillo; many grand, great grand and great great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the staff at renew home health care, Texas oncology and Dr. Sam Daggubati.
