Emma Wylie

Emma Florence Wylie, 104, passed away Monday, October 08, 2018 in Abilene. Visitation for family and friends will be from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM, Thursday, October 11, 2018 at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 Hwy 277 South. A Funeral service will begin at 2:00 PM, Thursday, October 11, 2018 in the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel. Services will be officiated by Les Bruce. Interment will follow the service in Elmwood Memorial Park.

Emma was born November 29, 1913 in Pickton, Texas to parents, Henry Frank and Gladys Brown. She attended Pickton schools, where she met the love of her life James Wylie and the two were married in 1931. Emma and James were married for 71 happy years. Emma (known as Nanny, by all who loved her) attended Calvary Baptist Church as long as her health would allow her to do so. She was an amazing cook and famous for her pies. Nanny was an expert seamstress and quilter. God's love was in everything Nanny did and she lived her life so that others knew Jesus through her. Many were blessed by her caring heart and endless prayers. She loved her family dearly and called her grandchildren, "My Little Ole Sweethearts."

She is preceded in death by her parents, Henry Frank and Gladys Brown; her husband, James Wylie; her son, Pat Wylie; her son in law, Max Farmer; and four siblings, Daisy Barrett, Jack Brown, Otis Brown, and Pauline Fontinilla.

Emma is survived by her daughter, Frankie Barclay and husband Winston; her daughter in law, Alba Wylie; four grandchildren, Pam Duffee and husband Richard, Jamie Bruce and husband Les, Samantha Wylie, and Patrick Wylie and wife Christy; six great grandchildren, Amy Carter and husband Brian, RJ Duffee and wife Kate, Lacy Bruce, Cory Bruce, and Alex Anne Azlan and husband Akmal, and Cara Wylie; and seven great great grandchildren, Lane Lofton, Luke Lofton, Lily Lofton, Oakley Duffee, Jaxon Bruce, Emma Bruce, and Max Bruce.

Pallbearers for the service will be Richard Duffee, Luke Lofton, Lane Lofton, RJ Duffee, Cory Bruce, and Jaxon Bruce.
