Eric Wayne Peoples, 35, of Abilene, Texas, passed away on March 16, 2015. Visitation will be 6:00 till 8:00 PM, Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 Hwy 277 South. Funeral service will be 2:00 PM, Thursday, March 19, 2015 at Mission Abilene, 3001 N. 3rd Street. Interment will follow the service at Elmwood Memorial Park.
Eric was born on November 27, 1979 in Abilene, Texas to Ron and Beverly Peoples. He was a natural athlete that loved being on the baseball field and the golf course. He excelled during his years on the AHS baseball team and made his mom and dad extremely proud as they never missed a game.
Eric was everyone's "Go-To Guy." He was a problem solver by nature and could take a hammer, some nails and a few pieces of wood and make a master piece. If something was broken or needed to be built, Eric was the man to call...and he was always willing. But his true legacy lives on in the lives of the countless number of family and friends that he touched by simply being Eric.
Eric was quick witted, funny, and extremely loyal to those he loved. He was very private and liked having his own space, but at the same time he could walk into a room and strike up a conversation with a complete stranger. He always knew just what to say to lift your spirits or just make you laugh when you didn't think you had it in you.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Mary Stewart and Roy and Patsy Peoples.
He is survived by his mom, Beverly Peoples; his dad, Ron Peoples; his brother, Jeff Peoples; his sister Mandy Peoples Benedix and her husband, Curt Benedix; his nieces, Madison and Makenzie Peoples; his nephew, Brady Benedix; his great niece, Avery; as well as his aunts, uncles and numerous cousins and friends.
