Ernest Jacques, 78, passed away Saturday, July 24, 2010 in El Paso. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, July 29th at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 837 Jeannette. Visitation is from 5:30 to 7:00 PM with Prayer Service beginning at 7:00 PM on Wednesday in the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel, 5750 HWY 277 South.

Mr. Jacques was born in Rowena on March 30, 1932 the son of Monico Jacques Sr. and Francisca Reyes Jacques. He served in the U.S. Army and came to Abilene in the late 50s where he owned and operated Ernest Jacques Vitallium Dental Lab until his retirement in 2003. He enjoyed bowling, fishing and hunting and was passionate about his hobbies of farming and ranching. He was a longtime member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church and was an Honorary Lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Alicia of Abilene five daughters, Anna Marie Monsiviaiz, Patsy Rodriguez, Frances Gonzales, Mary Ellen Migliore, and Christina Garza all of Abilene 15 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren three brothers, Jessie Jacques and Monico Jaques Jr. both of Abilene and Jerry Jaques of San Angelo.

Two sisters, Aurora Garcia and Emelia Luna a brother, Manuel Jacques and his parents preceded him in death.
