Esther Jones

Esther Jones, 88, passed from this life May 17, 2013 in The Woodlands, TX. Visitation will be 6 till 8 PM, Friday, May 24, 2013 at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 Hwy 277 South. Funeral service will be 11:00 AM, Saturday, May 25, 2013 at New Light Baptist Church, 518 N 6th Street.
Esther was born one of nine children on September 30, 1924 to Rupert and Lucinda Ward in Bartlett, TX. She attended school in Bartlett. Upon moving to Abilene she met and married Connie Jones Sr. She united with the 10th Street Church of Christ, later moving her membership to New Light Baptist Church, under the leadership of Reverend Alton Hurd, now under the Leadership of Reverend Eddie Jordan. She was very involved in the church and was a member of the choir.
Esther is survived by three sons, Connie Jones Jr. and wife Charlene, Clifton Jones and wife Glenda, and Donald Jones thirteen grandchildren twentytwo great grandchildren a host of nieces, nephews, and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Connie Sr. her son, Kenneth Jones two sisters, and six brothers.
