Ethel Nanny Ferguson, 84, passed away Thursday, January 30, 2014 at her home. Visitation will be 7:00 till 8:00 PM, Monday, February 3, 2014 at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 Hwy 277 South. Funeral will be 11:00 AM, Tuesday, February 4, 2014 in the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel.
Ethel or Nanny as most people knew her was born November 9, 1929 in Monks Corner, SC to parents, Frank and Lorean Harrell. She married William Ferguson in 1955 in Fort Sumter, SC. They lived in many places including Guam while William served in the Air Force. They were transferred to Abilene in 1972 where after his retirement they made theyre home. She worked as a seamstress for several different companies throughout the years and was a caretaker for many children. She was a faithful Christian and member of Gateway Baptist Church and was always telling people about her Good Ol Master. She was a loving and dedicated mother who always spent her time taking care of and blessing her family. She loved to work in the yard and was the happiest outside. She was Nanny to the whole neighborhood and loved to take care of everyone. She enjoyed sewing, ironing and sitting on the front porch visiting with the neighbors.
In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorial donations be made in Ethels honor to Gateway Baptist Church in Tuscola or the American Cancer Society.
She is survived by her four children, William M Ferguson Jr and wife Rhonda, Diana Williams, Deborah Ferguson and husband Tony, Justin W Ferguson and wife Karen eight grandchildren, Jason Ferguson, Lance Willson and wife Maylee, Clay Willson, SSgt Scott B Williams and wife Chelse, Travis J Williams and wife Sarah, Dustin Neil Ferguson, Paige Marie Torres and husband Manuel, Justin Ferguson Jr. and wife Julie three stepgrandchildren, Cody Oneill and wife Megan, Cortney Mast and husband Dustin, Chelse Bonnett and husband Kolin two great grandchildren, Zane and Kasen Ferguson one stepgrandchild, Rylee one brother Allen Harrell and wife Mary two sisters Della Wiggins and Bevia Denning.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William brothers, Frank and Leggett and her parents.
