Eva Marie Arp, 81, died Sunday July 24, 2011 in Abilene. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, July 27th in the Garden of Gospel at Elmwood Memorial Park. Visitation is from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Tuesday at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 HWY 277 South.
Marie was born on November 15, 1929 in Lamesa, Texas the daughter of Allan and Alma Gillit. She married William Max Curley Arp on August 10, 1945 in Lamesa and they moved to Abilene and made it their home in 1949. She was a Baptist and a member of the former Highland Park Baptist Church.
Marie was a homemaker, Avon Representative, Store Keeper and worked for Vinsons Laundries for over 10 years between the 70s and 90s.
Survivors include her daughters, Annette Perdue and best friend Bill Kaufman of Tye, and Cecil Kay Mask and husband Don of Rockwall County, Texas one daughterinlaw, Barbara Arp of Abilene several grandchildren and great grandchildren and her best friend Peteie.
Her husband, her son, Bill Arp, her parents, 2 brothers, one soninlaw, Donnie Perdue, and two infant grandsons preceded her in death.
The family would like to recognize with special thanks, the Nurses and Doctors and both Hendrick Hospice Care and Coronado Nursing Center for their kindness and care.
