Evelyn Anderson

Evelyn Louise Anderson, 81, passed away on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, in Fort Worth, Texas. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM on Friday, September 6, 2024, at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 Hwy 277 South, Abilene, Texas. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, September 7, 2024, at Elmwood Memorial Park, 5750 Hwy 277 South, Abilene, Texas.

Evelyn was born on April 10, 1943, in Abilene, Texas to her parents, Dexter and Hattie Armstrong. On December 22, 1962, Evelyn began a beautiful journey with her beloved husband, Wade Anderson. Together, they cherished 62 years of laughter, support, and unwavering love. Their marriage was a testament to enduring commitment and affection. Evelyn attended Sul Ross State University in Alpine, Texas where she received her bachelor's degree. This accomplishment set the stage for her fulfilling career as a kindergarten teacher, a role she embraced for approximately 26 years. Evelyn wore many hats, that of a devoted wife, a nurturing mother, and an extraordinary gram as her grandchildren would call her. The joy she found in her grandchildren was immeasurable, as she treasured every moment spent with them.

Evelyn is survived by her husband, Wade Anderson; daughter, Cindy Rowden, and husband Mark; her daughter, Tresa Turner, and husband Ottie; her grandchildren, Chrystopher Rowden, and wife Emily, Jonathyn Rowden, Brittni Boydstun, and husband Justin, Jared Turner, and wife Taylor, Zachary Turner, Wacy Turner; her great-grandchildren, Conner Turner, Grayson Turner, Carsyn Turner, Spencer Turner, Kaylee Boydstun, Peyton Boydstun; her brother, Bill Armstrong; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her father, Dexter Armstrong; her mother, Hattie Armstrong; her sisters, Peggy Gonzales and Lola Mae Westbrook.

Evelyn will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
